Alessandra Capuano has a BA in Architecture, an MA in Historic Preservation, a PhD and a Post-doctorate, and is a Full Professor of Architecture at La Sapienza University, Rome. She is the director of “Architecture for Archaeology. Design for the enhancement of Cultural Heritage” and course leader for the 5-year degree in Architecture. She is also PhD coordinator for Landscape and Environment, and an associate professor of the UNESCO course in Environment and Landscape at the University of Montreal. Capuano is director of LaGraTe Lab for urban design, landscape, archeology and cities. She has won awards for “Archaeological Landscapes” (PRIN 2009), “Lifestyles and Cities of the Future” (Award 2013, Multidisciplinary Research 2014, PRIN 2015). She is the author of 5 monographs, 6 full-length publications and more than 50 essays, including: The Park and the City. The territory of Appia in the future of Rome (2013), Landscape of Ruins, Ruined Landscapes (2014), Rome’s Appia: Ruins Utopia Design (2017).
Anna Giovannelli is an architect and professor of Architectural Design at the Architecture Faculty of La Sapienza University, Rome. She completed a PhD in Architectural and Urban Design at the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1998, where she taught Architectural Design from 1999 to 2005. She has lectured at international architecture and urban design workshops at La Sapienza, the Polytechnic University of Milan and FAUL in Lisbon. Since 2015 she has been coordinator of the International Masters in Architecture for Archaeology. Cultural heritage enhancement projects. Giovanelli is the author of several papers on modern and contemporary architecture, including Il progetto storico oltre confine. Manfredo Tafuri negli Stati Uniti (2019); Percorsi lenti. She carries out design research at the DiAP – Dipartimento di Architettura e Progetto at La Sapienza, and participates in national and international design competitions.
